Seamless3d

Seamless3d is Free Open-Source 3D Modelling and Animation Software designed to be fun and easy to create animated organic characters, plants, machines and buildings without compromising artistic freedom.

Anyone can begin by building a house with Seamless3d's item bar containing pre-packaged blocks or start creating an animated organic model following the step-by-step tutorial.

To create an organic model from scratch you begin with a simple shape and increase its complexity using two functions, extrusions and control line insertions, both of which are very easy to learn and use. Shaping the model can be done by simply dragging control points from different view orienations. Allthough Seamless3d is quite different to using a pencil to sketch an image, it should be no more difficult to create models with. However just like it takes practice to develop your artistic skills when learning how to sketch with a pencil, so too does it take practice to develop your artistic skills using Seamless3d, as it is not one of those programs that does the art for you, it's a program that frees you to be a 3D artist!

Although Seamless3d being a NURBS based modeler offers great power to the artist, because of the way it is designed it is possible to use Seamless3d without knowing what a NURBS patch is.
