描述

Card Data Storm is a PCI DSS tool which scans the local storage drives of the device searching the data for patterns matching payment card numbers.

Every accessible file on the system will be scanned and there are special capabilities built in for the following file types: 1. Excel Spreadsheets 2. Word Documents 3. Zip files 4. PDF files - uses optical character recognition technology 5. JPEG files - uses optical character recognition technology

As each file is checked, any card numbers found are validated against a luhn algorithm, a complex pattern match and then checked against a worldwide list of known payment card issuer identification numbers. This algorithm is frequently reviewed and updated to reflect new card issuer identification numbers.

The current list of supported payment card issuers is: - Visa - Master Card - American Express - Diners Club International - Diners Club - Discover Card - JCB - Maestro UK * - Maestro * - China T Union * - China Union Pay * - Ru Pay * - Inter Payment * - Insta Payment * - Dankort * - MIR * - NPS Pridnestrovie * - Troy * - UATP * - Verve * - LankaPay *

* Requires switching on in the application settings.

The search cannot validate that any card numbers found are valid for purchases, only that the numbers found are well formed. Whilst every step has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the results, if any false positive card numbers are found, Card Data Storm tackles this problem with ease by allowing card numbers, individual files and entire folders to be removed from the results.

Any card data found is safe with Card Data Storm. When the application creates reports after a scan completes, the data stored is encrypted. In addition to using encryption, the application has no internet access capability, meaning the data cannot be automatically transferred off the device by the software.
