描述
RenameToExif monitors one or more folders of your choice. Once a JPG or JPEG gets into the folder, the file will be renamed based on the date and time it was taken. Why is it useful? Imagine enjoying an event and taking pictures to capture those moments. And your friend does the same. Or you have a DSLR camera and also use your cell phone camera. If you later copy all the photos into a folder, you will have different naming conventions depending on the original device (e.g. DSC1234.JPG or "Pixel 2023_2023..." etc). With Windows Explorer you can sort these pictures by the date they were taken, but what if your favorite program, such as your photo book program, does not allow this? Than this program is right for you! How does it work: The program monitors up to 256 folders that can be defined by you. As soon as a JPG hits one of these folders, it reads the date and time from that image's Exif information and renames it to that timestamp. Example: DSC1234.JPG will be renamed to 20230107_170829.jpg No telemetry or personal information is collected. The Statistics tab is also not saved. A little background: The program is written in C++ and Windows Forms. It consumes very few computing resources. All settings and are saved to Registry under the current user: \\HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\PM-RenameToExif Events are displayed in the 'Events' tab. But you can also save them in a file. Some programs like WhatsApp or others remove Exif information to keep the data small. You can allow the program to use the file's last modified date instead if no Exif information is available. If you select Start at logon, an additional Registry Value is generated under the following Subkey to start the program automatically at next user logon: HKCU\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run Let me know if you have any questions.
