It *doesn't* open everything... by David
If you only work with a few of the more popular file formats used on Windows then yes, it will pretty much open all those kinds of archives. But it does not open .bz2 files. So, the claim that it opens "everything" is not accurate.

Real Free by Cosmic
Forget about the old WinZip/WinRAR stuff. They are ugly and keep nagging you to pay. This app is FREE without surprises and it looks/works beautifully! There are many other similar apps on the App Store but they are all very rudimentary and try to get you to pay. Forget about them and get this one! I just can't stress this -- avoid the old Windows programs at all cost! Find good App Store alternatives like this and they will make your Windows experience very enjoyable!

Could use tweaking by Jennfier
I'm not being asked where I want my unzipped files to go, nor is it unzipping them to the location the zipped file is in. It's stuffing everything into my downloads folder and I have to manually move it. Clicking on the upper left corner and then clicking Settings opens a panel on the right side, but it merely says "Settings" and "WinOpener" and gives no options to change anything. Fixing it so we actually have some settings to adjust to our liking (in particular letting us choose where unzipped files are places) would be extremely nice. Having to manually move files every time, especially if you handle a lot of them, will quickly become a nuisance. Other then that, it's a great little app.

Doesn't Unzip .tar Files by Di and Rach
This app doesn't unzip .tar files. It creates a new folder named the same as the original file in the "downloads" folder, but there's nothing inside of the folder. I tried multiple times with multiple .tar files with no success. Skip this app.

Not all it's cracked up to be by Ace
It did a great job of pretending to open *.tar.gz files but never did extract the contents, I'll give it a generous 1 star for the nice interface but not quite a 2 since it didn't serve its sole purpose. 9 zip was able to do it though!

I guess I can't trust MS, either (115 fake 5* reviews) by Daniel
After being fed up with Google's "privacy" policies, or lack thereof, I'm seeking alternate services I can call home. Running Windows my whole life, MS products were easiest to access, so I kind of, without a choice, stuck with MS-products, such as keeping and using MS recommended Default Programs. I'm in the Store finally, after realizing I do need third party apps for some things, Archive openers being one of them. WinOpener isn't the first App I downloaded from the MS store, and it certainly might be my last. Of the several Apps I scoured through, and downloaded, only ONE was not a bait, albeit it didn't process maybe 2/10 zip/rar files. (CraftyFiles.) This WinOpener, like the rest of the Apps in this Store, use tricky, left-up-to-interpretation words to describe, and get you to download their product (even in their responses to poor ratings). YOU CAN'T USE THIS TO EXTRACT WITHOUT DOWNLOADING A SUGGESTED PARTNER APP. THERE IS NO FREE HERE. FREE MEANS TRIAL OR SHORTCUT TO PAID VER
