So much potential, yet they failed to deliver. by dave
Too bad NBC wasted it on low res videos with awful music. This could have been great. If I select a bobsledding video in Vr I want to see the whole run from the drivers perspective in HD, Instead I get to listen to terrible music while viewing a low res video with bad editing. NBC clearly has no idea how to implement VR into Olympic sports.

Disappointing by Jason
Most content seems to be behind the cable sign-in. The available videos are all extremely low-bitrate and 2D. The only 3D video is an opening ceremony highlight reel, but the eyes are swapped so it's unwatchable. While videos are playing, the super-bright interface can't be dismissed. And the entire interface seems designed for Cardboard -- clicking on buttons doesn't work, you have to gaze at them for a while to press them.

Good start to a Great Winter Olympics by Blake
I have been really getting into VR apps, and I am really excited about this. I love the Olympics and experiencing them in VR is going to be great. At first pass I really like the flying overview of the Olympic area (the driving cars is a nice touch). The event locations and videos seem to be good (could be higher quality videos). Suggestions: Higher quality videos More animations in the event areas Navigation was hard to follow at first Multiple VR cameras per event and the ability to switch between them

Good Ideas, very low bandwidth transmissions by Gary
I have a 30Mb wired connection, but I was getting a max of 840kb data speed (and even that was just burst packets, not continuous.) Makes for very blocky, highly-compressed looking video. The resolution ends up being so bad that I wouldn't want to watch something live with this. You can't read names or see scores or anything small. There's also some obvious inexperience in placing cameras -- one gets quite a workout spinning around trying to keep track of a ski jumper as the cameras track him going down the hill. Overall some good ideas but it still needs work. Also, I suspect the videos will lag the events by quite a bit. The schedules are sometimes very vague (gives the day but not the time) which to me implies they don't really have the program set yet. The IDEA is great, the execution so far is not up to snuff.

Low quality video, Too many view shifts, Music too loud by Nick
Horrible experience. Whoever shot & edited the videos needs more experience. This isn't a music video where you have to change camera angles every 3 seconds. People want to experience the surroundings in VR, but the video keeps cutting to different viewpoints often while the camera is moving so you get motion sickness. It's really a horrible immersive experience. And please tone down the techno-inspirational music. It's awful.

Terrible editing for VR by David
Who is the idiot that thought quick cuts and multi-angle views would be great for VR? By the time you realize where you are, they cut to a new scene, then the action is behind you and by the time you turn to see something, they cut to the next scene, you're just in a constant state of frustration. How hard could be to set up a camera and let people experience what it would be like at the Olympics, but no. They just had to get clever and over produce it to the point of uselessness.

Terrible quality in Win MR by Zach
Low-res unwatchable video, nauseating camera movements, loud annoying soundtracks, and overlays of names/scores/TVs that have depth far behind the video that they're covering up.
