NBC News

Decent app--provides quick access to articles and videos, which is convenient if I miss the nightly news. In my opinion, however, Bing news is a better overall news app since it aggregates stories from multiple optional sites. Most importantly, however, NBC's idea of important 'breaking news' is out of kilter, resulting in way too many interruptions for trivial stories. School shooting? Sure, notify me of that. Some guy alleging that some other guy is lying, even if both are politicians; don't bother me. Unfortunately, NBC doesn't have a setting such that you can select which notifications to receive--it's all or nothing. It would be better if they had a 'severity' slider or something. This is tolerable on the Windows app, but on a Phone it is more than annoying since you might dismiss something truly important (missed call, text, etc.) thinking it's just NBC bugging you about something silly.

Way too many Notifications... need a way to shut them off!

I used to love this app. What is going on-- never updates or refreshes -- had this app. For several years and never had this happen. What's wrong? How many days do we have to see the same news stories? Please fix this! It is stuck on June 12th. It's now the 18th? When?

It is time for a W10 version... Please update the app with a universal app.

Used to be able to view the full news show (this app was the only way to watch full episodes on a phone after NBC removed the Podcast feeds), then that option disappeared after an update! Yes, I can still watch all the individual segments, but it still sucks that it was taken away. Update: Broke for months! Can't expect people to be watching your news of you aren't refreshing them!!! Bye Bye Windows Phone ...

This app works well with latest news but the video isn't preloaded so it's not always in HD mode when the internet speed gets unstable

This app isn't bad, but I get more coverage just visiting their YouTube channel. The podcast just announced today that it was being discontinued, for those of us who can't afford cable bills, and live too far out to receive OTA signals reliably, online video is our only connection to news. This app doesn't even give you the Nightly News broadcast, just one or two videos from it. Heck, I'd be perfectly happy if they included commercials in the video feed, if it meant being able to watch a broadcast. Hopefully there's an update coming, otherwise, I'll have to get my news somewhere else. Update: Now that NBC News has discontinued their podcasts, you'd think that MTP, Today, and NN full episodes would appear here. The notice in the feed is that you can watch them in the iOS and Google Play store apps; so why not here? This app is now useless. Get the CBS News app instead, where you can stream CBSN live.

6-4-17 I prefer NBC news. It started acting where it wouldn't open up. Continued trying and same problem. Deleted the app & now can't reinstall - not particularly happy. I'll continue trying. NBC has gotten pokey in updating news. 6-5-17 FINALLY got app installed. Otherwise jury is still out. 7-24-17. News site is way behind on articles being updated. Art from, I think, July 18, reporting McCain's brain cancer. 11-6-17. NBC hasn't updated some of the news for months - Top Stories & Categories are useless.
