Easily the best language learning tool I've used by Benjamin
For many months I have searched for a tool to teach myself Japanese. I have tried Rosetta Stone, Japanese Pod 101, and tons of others. However, none had such a straightforward, simple, and informative design as this. Every single symbol in Hiragana and Katakana is animated when you touch it so you can observe the stroke order and the way it is written. Every sentence is able to be broken down into parts and each part is defined separately. This feature, called "Ingredients", is one of the best features this app offers for me. The author speaks in a way that makes sense to an English speaking American such as myself and it allows me to relate Japanese to what I know. He has a nice way of phrasing everything that keeps the process of learning interesting and exciting for me. There are tons of great features in this app, but for me the aforementioned way the author writes is my favorite feature. For ten dollars, you can't go wrong with this app.

One of the best by Paul
For a language learning program such as this, it almost deserves five stars, and coming from me, that is saying something. First of all, if you're thinking about buying this, my input is you will not regret it. This was one of the best programs I have ever used, even better than those over priced ones such as, Rocket Japanese, Rosetta Stone, and Pimslear. The only reason I am rating this as a four star product rather than five is because of a few minor details. I wish there were more games or interactive material available. Tests should be more customizable for what that individual needs to work on. I wish there was a quick search option for all chapters that dealt with a certain word or phrase for better receptiveness. It would be nice if there were subcategories to this that set up smaller sections of the program for a second review round or something. All in all this is a very solid product, definitely recommend it and I would rate it 4.85 stars if I could, but sadly I cannot .

"Human Japanese" ga daisuki desu! ^_^ by Jessica
I love this app! I have textbooks/workbooks and a DS game, but I love this app the best. I couldn't wait to keep doing the little end quizzes so I could learn more in the next chapter. I like how they explain the "why" of Japanese sentence mechanics, rather than just telling you how to say something. It makes it much easier to know how to form a sentence! I can't wait until they put the intermediate level in the Windows 8 store! (But I'll keep practicing until they do). :- )

Awesome Product by Gorth
I originally downloaded this product years ago when it was on Android. It is refreshing to see such a high caliber app on the Windows Store. I love this app. I can't wait to try out the intermediate version as well.

This app is amazing. by Sara
I've had this app for four days, and I'm on Chapter 25, level 9 of this app. I'm addicted so I've probably been on it for about three or four hours each day. It's been thoroughly enjoyable, thoroughly informative, and there has been minimal hand-holding and absolutely no fluff while still remaining fun. I love this app. It's single-handedly made my reading of kana faster, my understanding of grammar complete, and all in all this is probably your best bet as far as learning Japanese goes. Unless of course you are one of those people that love hand-holding and tons of fluff included in your expensive programs. Thank you very much to the creators of Human Japanese! I'm looking forward to making it to your intermediate Japanese app.

Love it by Harsh
I looked around for different ways to learn Japanese, and found this to be much better than most services, even the subscription ones I tried. Wish I could sync my progress across devices, but I'm still giving it a 5 star rating. I don't want my notes and highlights to go away if this machine dies!

In case you were debating which Windows version to get by Samir
Get this one! The one for older Windows is pretty bad. It's a fixed resolution and Windows doesn't make the fonts look all clear and anti-aliased as it usually does. You can barely see some of the ten-ten on the characters. This version is dope though. I guess it's good to remember these guys are app developers.

Great program by Fred
I've been using this along with an online tutorial site and both complement each other well. I've been able to pick up hiragana and katakana within a month and picked up useful phrases for an upcoming trip.
