CoPilot™ GPS

I've used just about every phone navigation app available for Android,IOS,and when I got my Lumina 1520 WP was the first app I downloaded. I paid once for this app several years ago, on Android,and it's still good for all other platforms. Regularly updated,clear precise routes,spot on details,and having alternative routes readily available is awesome for ever changing road construction here in the Midwest. If you want the best,get this app...

I've always been a big fan of CoPilot, ever since the old Windows mobile days, so I was keen to try this out. While I like the additional features it provides over Nokia Drive+, this sadly had a couple of problems for me. Firstly, in portrait mode on my Lumia 930, the bottom of the screen was chopped off. I believe CoPilot are aware of this, so expect it to be fixed on an update; landscape mode, though, was fine, so this isn't really a major problem. The deal breaker, though, was that it really struggled to keep me on the road! While I might have had a weak GPS signal (trees, narrow roads, etc.) CoPilot seemed to spend most of the trip telling me I was around 10 ft off the road, which was very frustrating (imagine it rerouting me every time we passed a side road). Nokia Drive+, though, seemed to realise that I almost certainly was on the road (so even if the GPS signal was weak, it gave me a sensible journey). Maybe it will be better on a large motorway, but as it stands, I just can't recommend it.

For a windows phone 8 this is the best I have found

This is purely a mapping app, and you must pay for the navigation ability. By the descriptions, I thought this had visual mapping navigation while the upgrade was for voice navigation, but it actually has no navigation at all. ALK is very deceptive with this, trying to get you to pay for an upgrade. When I contacted tech support thinking something was wrong with my app, they never clarified the free features, and I was only able to figure out the truth by reading complaints in online reviews.

Too many serious errors in all the last builds that HAVEN'T BEEN FIXED IN A YEAR. AWFUL. Pros: • Voice commands Come exactly on time, unlike in Mercedes that often says Turn when it's late. • Power consumption Unlike HERE Drive+, which heats my phone like an oven an discharges it within an hour even when connected to AC in my car (!), CoPilot doesn't drain the battery that much. Cons: • GPS location CATASTROPHIC! It's almost 8 times in 10 runs when the app fails to fix GPS. • FREQUENT START FAILURES! When there's no connection or a weak internet connection, the app fails to open and stalls on black screen after showing the splash screen. • Support Probably the worst you could get, if you think you'd ever needed support, CoPilot is probably not for you. • Obtaining maps Downloading stalls at 99%. When downloading stalls, the app seems to leave remnants of incomplete downloaded thus wasting space.
