Rpg Location Name Generator and Mapper Game Accessory
RPG Fantasy Location Names and Map Generator is an accessory for RPG games that is used to generate maps and suggest location names. It is designed to help the storyteller or GM run RPG campaigns by editing campaign maps and taking snapshots to be used during the game. It is a generic game accessory for classic RPG game players and not itself a game.
In the English language the names that places are known by can be a unique word like 'Grashmire' or a phrase that came into use for some reason, 'Hanging Tree Road' for the road that once had a tree where hangings were performed or 'Red Wolves Hollow' a valley owned by wolves are such phrases.
This program generates 2,940,000,000 possible location names. They are meant as suggestions, phrase combinations that trigger the imagination. There is a page of suggestions where names appear on buttons to be picked to edit or think about. As some words are obscure there is a tool to try to lookup the word definitions when needed.
All names can be edited or you can create your own. They are kept in a database that is created when the program starts. Names are saved with notes you add as descriptions or owner information or some other data. Several different search and paging options let you find any location you have saved quickly.
Simple fantasy topographical maps may be generated or loaded from external files and locations placed on them. The text size, color and angle as well as a place marker for each location is configurable. And maps are savable as image file.
Hexagon maps in a 64x64 grid may be generated and edited. Roads, Rivers and Symbols may be added, Then the map may be exported to the page used for non-hexagon topographical maps to add text .
