WeatherDoc is an app on which weather variables are featured for a station at a date/time. This app obtains live, real-time data from the NOAA Weather service. Esri supports the NOAA service through the ArcGIS REST Services Directory. Data are used to compute and display variables.
With WeatherDoc, you type in a city and state in the City and State boxes, respectively. Capitalize each part in the city and state names; apply title case. The state should be spelled out and not be abbreviated. After you are done typing, you click the Enter button and obtain weather information for a station you have selected.
The weather variables from WeatherDoc are - air temperature (F, C, K) - dew point (F, C, K) - wet bulb (F, C, K) - virtual temperature (F, C, K) - dew point depression (F, C, K) - wet bulb depression (F, C, K) - atmospheric pressure (mb, in) - vapor pressure (kPa) - saturation vapor pressure (kPa) - mixing ratio (g / kg) - saturation mixing ratio (g / kg) - specific humidity (g / kg) - saturation specific humidity (g / kg) - absolute humidity (g / m^3) - saturation absolute humidity (g / m^3) - relative humidity (%) - dry air density (kg / m^3) - LCL height (m) - LCL temperature (F, C, K) - wind speed (km / h) - wind direction (degrees)
KEY F (degrees Fahrenheit), C (degrees Celsius), K (Kelvin), mb (millibars), in (inches), kPa (kilopascals), g (grams), kg (kilograms), m^3 (cubic meter), % (percent), LCL (Lifting Condensation Level), m (meters), km (kilometers), h (hour)
