Retro Math

The whole concept of “Retro Math,” the math game app I developed, is to make math more entertaining to children of any age, especially students who loathe studying math but love computer games. Retro Math is very unique because it merges solving math problems with the fun of playing combat games, hopefully creating associations for students between having fun and learning math. Students defeat enemies and earn coins if they solve math problems within a fixed time frame. After acquiring a certain amount of coins, they are able to buy items to strengthen their avatars. They can choose the difficulty level of the math questions starting with simple questions and then progress to much more difficult questions. If they cannot answer a question correctly, the application redirects them to a website that teaches them simple methods of solving each problem.
