Great News! If you don't have a built-in GPS/GNSS chip in your PC/Laptop, you can now use your external USB GPS device for real time satellite tracking of your trip. As long as the GPS device shows up as a COM port in Windows the app should be able to find it. A great mapping and trip logging app. View the path in real time on the installed Microsoft Here map, log your trip and save it to a GPX file. Saved files can also be imported into Google Earth, Microsoft MapPoint or Streets and Trips and many other apps that read GPX files. Additional language support. Currently supports Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Spanish Download the app on your Windows 10/11 PC or Tablet. If you still have an old Windows Phone running Windows Mobile 10 kicking around it will work on that well. The app and the GPX files are fully compatible. Import/export placemarks to a local file or cloud storage file. The files are saved in clear text XML format. Edit them and resave in any text editor. Saved GPX files can also be used with FreeLogBook.biz to help keep electronic logbook and track mobiles within a company. http://www.freelogbook.biz/home/ Works under lock screen or in the background! This app is designed to be used with the GPS/GNSS Geolocation device built into some newer tablets and Windows phones or an external USB GPS device. If you don't have a GPS chip in your device then you can only view maps, you can't track your position. (Please don't give it a 1 star rating for something limited by your hardware and not the app :) Main features - Offline Maps! After the maps have been downloaded an internet connection is no longer required to update the map tiles. - Add unlimited number of custom placemarks on the map. - Traffic updates (Requires internet connection). - Replay GPX files from any source, in real time as recorded or accelerated speed. The app should also be able to load and display GPX files from other GPS devices, such as Garmin Nuvi etc. If it does not please send me the file that doesn't work and I can update the app so it does. Send it to [email protected] , thanks. If your GNSS device in your PC/tablet/phone still works outside Wi-Fi or cellular service the logging and mapping will continue in Road map view. The Aerial map tiles may not update however and may not be downloadable for offline use. Let me know if you need a translation for your language, if I get enough requests for a specific language I will attempt to add it. App too expensive? Search the store for GPS Logger, it is free to download and use, but is ad supported and only allows up to 3 custom placemarks.
