Description

In 1970, British mathematician John Conway developed the Game of Life to illustrate the power of cellular automata. Within this simple "game", each cell follows simple, local rules: If the cell is "alive" and there are 2-3 cells around it which are also alive, it remains alive. If the cell is "alive" and there are fewer than 2 cells alive around it, it will die. If the cell is "alive" and there are more than three cells alive around it, it will die. If the cell is "dead" and there exactly three live cells around it, it will come alive.

Through these simple local rules, amazing complexity is born. Play this game to see what patterns you can create. Can you create the glider gun or the waterbear? Or will you discover something entirely new and find yourself on the "Pattern of the Year" List (https://conwaylife.com/wiki/Pattern_of_the_Year)?
