Description
Merial_Eva3P: Evaluation of the worm pressure at grazing. eva3P is a simulation tool of parasitic infestation to Ostertagia on first year of grazing animals. This application is available to veterinarians to help them in the parasitic risk management at grazing.
eva3P is an educational media to raise awareness of the parasite population dynamics. It is also a support for discussion in face to face with the breeder to support the prescription of the parasitic risk control plans.
This application that MERIAL makes available to veterinarians is based on biological modeling of the Ostertagia infestation studied by Grenfell and Smith and programming is the fruit of cooperation between MERIAL (Jean-Jacques Pravieux), SENOE (Olivier Texier) and ONIRIS (Alain Chauvin). The calculation engine is based on current epidemiological knowledge and average 10-year weather data. It is scalable and can be refined if new data.
eva3P is designed to strengthen the practitioner in his reasoning on parasite control, while leaving the total initiative of his prescription. This is why the suggested treatments are types of treatment, without going into the choice of molecules and trade names.
eva3P is an illustration of the will of MERIAL to engage with practitioners for a prescription and a still more relevant use of veterinary drugs.
