The sky view factor is the ratio of visible sky in the entire hemisphere. This factor provides important information in urban planning for the analysis of urban heat islands, and also has applications in solar energy and climate research and more.
Calculating this factor on a raster map of a digital elevation model is typically very time-consuming. Lucid Sky View Factor uses advanced proprietary technology to perform the calculations 60 times faster than competing alternatives, with higher quality even on large high resolution maps without down-sampling.
