Midnight Sun is the 7th vinyl release from the well-loved label Futago Traxx. The epic title track from Rennie Foster and Okinawan vocalist Ely, of the popular electro-J-pop act Bremen, is impossible to describe fully in just a few words. Going through several “movements” this song pushes the boundries of Dance music arrangement and fuses Okinawan traditional music with elements of classic emotional Detroit Techno, tribal House and world music truly as never heard before. A legitimate pioneer of Organic techno, UK creator Oliver Ho presents a remix in the minimal and electronic “Raudive“ style, showing why this recent moniker is gaining him so much renewed respect in the club music scene. Oliver recreates the main melody into a pulsing acid bassline and presents the vocals in deep dreamy style resembling the UK warehouse sound of 1988 but with an ultra-modern production sensibility. Pure Plastic icons Mark Brown and Dave Hill, again representing UK London, revisit their legendary Rue East moniker for a stripped down minimal track that is all business for the modern dancefloor replacing the intricate details of the original with a subtle, soulful and powerful minimalism that jacks and jacks and jacks.
