Your photos are more than only pictures. It can yell you not only when and where the photo was taken. It can also tell you what was on the photo and what was the most prominent color. And if your photos contain any faces, it can tell you more about each face (like gender, age, emotion, hair color, etc.). But there is more... If you have a photo from your friends or family, it can also tell you who is on the photo.
To achieve this, you must submit your photos to be analyzed, where it will be enriched with metadata. Hereafter you can sort, group and search through them in different domains (like time, keywords, face characteristics, etc.). Note that your original photos will NOT be altered.
This app uses different pages for the different functionalities. You can change pages with the Hamburger menu ☰ in the upper left corner. Most pages contain additional help on the labels. By tapping on them you can expand or collapse them to see more detail.
The ???? Analyze page allows you to pick a single photo or a complete folder from your photo library or you can use the camera of your device to take a photo. The selected photo(s) will then be analyzed and enriched with metadata like 'tags' (keywords), a description, color information, face characteristics, age, gender, emotion, etc. It uses AI techniques to do so. And if you trained the app correctly with a number of 'known faces' it can even identify faces (it can tell you who is on the photo).
To make face identification possible you must train the app with your own list of persons. You can do that in the Persons page. You can make your own person list. For each person you must provide a name (or alias) and a couple known photos of that person's face. If you want (and if you give the app permission to do so), you can also get a person name and face from your contacts. Then you must 'train' the app so it knows how your persons look like when it analyzes new photos.
In the Collection page you can see the thumbnails of all, or a subset of your analyzed photos. And because each photo is enriched with metadata, you can group, sort, and search through them in different domains. e.g. you can search for photos with specific face attributes or tags. You can also select one or more photos from your collection and export them (including the metadata) to different document formats like Word, PowerPoint, Pdf, or Html, or you can share them with other applications. By tapping on a thumbnail, you will be directed to the Detail page.
The Detail page shows you the original photo including all its metadata. You can use the usual pinch-zoom gestures to zoom-in or out. But you will also see face-rectangles that marks the recognized or identified faces. Some metadata, like Description, Person name and Location can be modified if you like.
Another way to view your photos with embedded location data is by means of a world map. In the Map page you see a world map where all the countries containing photos will be highlighted and are selectable. When you tap a country you will zoom-in to that country and see all its thumbnails. You can select a thumbnail to show the description and to zoom-in even further to show it full size.
The ⏲ Status page shows you the numeric details of all your analyzed photos. It also shows you a progress status in case the analysis is postponed to the background.
Finally there is the Settings page where you can change settings like thumbnail size or theme.
