First-time setup:

1) Download from your DAZ Account all your product library files for the manual installation. Files are in the format IMXXXXXXXX-XX_ProductName.zip.

2) Open DAZ Install Manager (DIM) and set in the "Advanced Settings" the Package Archive with the folder containing your product library files. DIM will show you the list of your products and manifest files (.dsx) will be created.

3) Open this app and click "Open" picking the "Package Archive" folder. Click "Download Metadata" to download from the cloud images and metadata for each product. Thumbnails images will be placed in the "Package Archive" folder.

Note: A single entry is shown for multi-part products to avoid duplicated thumbnails.

- Is this app compatible with DAZ Central? Can be installed side-by-side, but DAZ Install Manager is required to install offline contents.

- How can I display installed products? Open the default Manifests folder "C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles"

- How can I display offline contents (.zip files) archived on an external memory? Run DAZ Install Manager to create manifest files as described in the instructions above, then open the folder with the app

- Is the app using a Database? No, to ensure always updated content and a low overhead, manifest files are read when the folder is opened. A DsxCatalogCache.json cache file is created to speed-up this process and to store metadata.

- Can I display the catalog on another machine? Yes, you can export the catalog as PDF or as .dsx, .jpg and .json files by using the Export button

- Is Internet required? Only to download thumbnails and metadata from the network and to display the product documentation. No account is required.

- Can I mix DIM packaged content and un-packaged content (ex. without manifest files)? Yes, but we recommend to keep un-packaged content in a different folder to better organize assets

-How can I use the Export feature? For example to keep/sync a copy of the catalog on your local hard drive.

-How can I quickly see the latest items I added? Use the Sort by Manifest Date option

-I opened a large catalog by mistake, how can I stop loading? Use the ESC key to abort the current operation

-I don't have DAZ Install Manager You can use the new Open ZIP folder feature (slower, old releases only)

-Can I see downloaded thumbnails from DAZ Install Manager Yes, from v1.0.21 thumbnail filenames are compatible.

-How many files can the app handle? 20000+ files. Loading times can be longer when the library is huge.

-Loading my library is slow Please delete the Thumb folder inside your DSX folder and download thumbnails again with a lower "Thumbnails cache height" setting (by choosing 186px you can use thumbnails with DIM too)
